Olivia Giesler

In 2002, Olivia Giesler realized her passion for the hospitality industry while she was working as an intern at Mitchell’s Ocean Club. She thrived in the fast-paced and challenging atmosphere, which inspired her to enroll in the culinary program at Columbus State Community College. At Columbus State, Olivia earned an Associates’ Degree in hospitality management with a culinary apprenticeship major and was named Apprentice of the Year in 2007. Since her internship, Olivia has remained a part of the Cameron Mitchell team; holding positions at M, Ocean Club and at Ocean Prime locations in Phoenix, Miami and Tampa. She was also Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ Sous Chef of the Year in 2009.

When Olivia is in her home kitchen, she enjoys cooking with fresh and in-season ingredients. Her favorite flavor profiles are those with Latin or Caribbean influence, so she keeps her pantry stocked with items like black beans, brown rice, limes and coconut milk. You also won’t catch Olivia in the kitchen without her 10” chef’s knife and bench scraper. Olivia lives in Dublin, Ohio, where her favorite non-culinary pastime is taking her young daughter to the pool.

Olivia believes in always searching for the good in people because everyone has something great to offer. Her advice to an aspiring chef: “Be passionate about what you do. Be humble and know that there is always something to learn from every experience and encounter.”
